March Run to Creswick and local area.
Meeting point: Creswick Woollen Mill. Railway Parade, North Creswick. Meeting time: 11.00 am at the Mill, where we will take a tour of the interpretive museum, taking a drive to Anderson’s Flour Mill and then onto lunch. Lunch will be at the Kingston Hotel (further details in the March VT).
On your way through the town admire the architecture of Creswick’s broad, elegantly curved main street, studded with buildings that owe their existence to the gold rush town’s heyday.
Point of interest: Originally inhabited by the Indigenous Dja Dja Wurrung people, Creswick grew rapidly during the gold rush years and later became the birthplace of reforestation and home to the school of forestry in Victoria and was home to, noted artistic family of the Lindsays including Norman.
