One of the world’s great historic motoring events, the Bay to Birdwood, is back for 2018 and will be held on Sunday 30 September. The Bay to Birdwood started 38 years ago back in 1980 and is considered the largest continually-held historic motoring event anywhere in the world.
The 2018 Bay to Birdwood will feature veteran, vintage, and early classic vehicles. Entries are open to all original motorcycles, cars, vans, trucks and commercial vehicles built on or before 31 December 1959.
The day will start with an early morning gathering of vehicles and their owners at Barratt Reserve, Adelaide Shores, West Beach. Everyone is encouraged to come along and stroll around the rows of vehicles and mingle with the citizen-collector owners. From 8.30 am the vehicles will make their way towards the city, through the suburbs and foothills to the Adelaide Hills township of Birdwood and the finish festivities. As happens every year, thousands of people will gather along the route and watch the passing parade of motoring history.
